The primary purpose of fire station tours is to provide age-appropriate fire safety education. To ensure an effective and meaningful experience for participants and a high volume of requests, we have updated our tour guidelines
Fire station tours are designed exclusively to educate children and their caregivers about fire safety. These tours are not general visits to see engines or meet firefighters.
We encourage families with young children to attend one of the many public events we offer throughout the year, where children can view fire engines, meet firefighters and learn in a more casual setting. See department events here.
Tour Schedule
- Tours are offered Monday through Friday, between:
- 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM
- Evening tours are extremely limited and may be offered on a case-by-case basis.
- All tours must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance, but no more than 3 months ahead.
- One tour per week is scheduled at our fire stations.
If requesting tours for multiple groups, each must be submitted separately and scheduled on different days.
Group Size & Supervision
- Maximum group size is 15 total participants, including children and adults.
- Adequate adult supervision is required to ensure safety. We recommend 1 adult chaperone per 5 children.
- Minimum desired age for all child participants is 5 years old.
District Priority
- Priority is given to residents and organizations within the Meridian Fire District.
- If you live outside the district, please contact your local fire department for tour opportunities.
In-Service Operations
- Fire stations remain fully operational during tours.
Fire crews may need to respond to emergencies at any time, which could: - Delay your scheduled start time
- Interrupt or end the tour early
- If a tour is interrupted or canceled due to an emergency response, we will do our best to reschedule—but rescheduling is not guaranteed due to high demand.

- Tours must align with our educational mission and age requirements to be considered.
